Lloyd George Knew My Father is by British playwright William Douglas-Home. Set in the home of General and Lady Boothroyd, an aristocratic eccentric couple, who represent all that was best and most lovable about the British Empire.
General Boothroyd is an ‘old deaf darling’ who likes to reminisce about the 1st World War where his present butler was his batman. Lady Boothroyd is all the strong matriarch, who upon leaving that a bypass is to be built through their property, declares her intention to commit suicide in protest.
